A couple of friends recommended Soulshine to me over the last few months and I managed to make it over there recently on a rainy Saturday morning attempting Bridport market. When I opened the door the staff were greeted by a mini scream of excitement from a very wet My Jurassic Coaster and a trail of equally sodden small people. There was wheatgrass on the counter, promise of a green smoothie and a medley of sourdough, raw delight before our very eyes. All combined with a magnificent display of interesting independent magazines for sale, in a well designed and styled cafe. Hence the small scream.
All in all, an unusual sight for the West Country until you reach Bristol. Kids happy as the cooked offering all looked good with varied choice too…crepes with organic chocolate spread their brunch choice du jour (that’s how to keep a middle class mother happy, Nutella to the rest of you in reality).
Go, it’s good. Remember to bring your own vinyl on Sundays. Not just soul apparently…
